The Flower Guild of St. Joseph Catholic Church--Gluckstadt, Mississippi was organized in the Summer of 2009. Previously, flowers had been arranged by church members from time to time, with occasional donated floral memorials, usually made by a local florist. Flower Guild members are volunteers who create floral arrangements to the Glory of God, which remind us of the wonder of the natural world He created. The Guild uses wildflowers and objects of nature whenever possible.

Easter Sunday, 2013

Potted Easter flowers were in colors of white and yellow with traditional white Easter Lilies and King Albert Daffodils. Cut flowers included yellow gerberas, tulips. glads, white mums and wild mixed greenery with kale.

Since we don't use floral arrangements during Lent, we have a stark arrangement of sticks and dried crepe myrtle pods. The purple altar cloth is very simple.

Christmas, 2012

Flowers consisted of traditional red poinsettias, around the nativity and in the shape of a tree. Red berries topped the Christmas trees. Hanging vases with holiday flowers, including tulips and Stars of Bethlehem, graced the side doors. A large arrangement of Christmas greenery and flowers was on the sideboard in the vestibule.
